HINTS FOR POSTING TO THE FORUM

1. New Posts - click on [Post Message] at the top of the Forum Page. Fill out the Name, E-Mail and Subject boxes (you can post anonymously if you wish and just type anonymous in the Name box, E-Mail address is optional, leave blank if you wish, you have to type something in the Subject box. The text of your post is then typed into the box labeled Comments. The remaining 3 boxes Optional Link URL, Link Title and Optional Image URL can be left blank (I haven't bothered to find out what they do yet.) When you're satisfied with you post then click on the Post Message button on the bottom of the page, and your post will be uploaded to the Forum.

2. Submitting a Follow Up to a Post - This is where you'd like to reply or comment to a post that someone else has put on our Forum. The procedure is the same as above, scroll down the page to where you can fill out the  Name, E-Mail and Subject boxes. The one big difference to New Posts is in the Comments box, the text of the post you are replying to automatically appears in the box - you can leave this text alone, delete it all or leave part of it, then type in your comments in the bottom of the box (it usually make most sense to delete it all, unless there is  a specific sentence you wish to respond to). After you've finished typing in your comments press the Submit Followup button, and your followup will be uploaded to the Forum.

3. Annoying Banner and Pop-up Ads - Sorry about these, it's the price we pay for free use of this Forum software. Some of the pop-up ads are carefully formatted to look like error messages, just close them carefully by clicking on the X button in the top right of the message. The banner ad at the top of the page doesn't get in the way, so don't try and close it or you'll be transported to that site. If this form of communication proves popular amongst club members and local runners/walkers then I'll see about paying a modest fee to get rid of the ads.

4. Even more confused after reading my instructions? - send me an email !!
